German Initiative awaits results (RFID Times)

The German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology has sponsored the research project Ko-RFID. The purpose of the project is measure the impact of RFID on collaboration. The project has been divided into 9 sub projects. Each of the sub project looks at the same question but from a different perspective.
The sub project 7 aims at designing and implementing RFID based tracking systems and logistics event. This project will be commenced in December 2007 and will continue till the end of Ko-RFID project.
The sub project 7 commences with a requirement analysis for the system which is then followed by the designing and then finally the realization of a prototypical implementation. Some of the questions to which the answers will be provide are is the system a partial replacement of the existing supply chain management software or is it a complementary one?
